Paisley Dreams

Happy Monday! OK so I've been seriously so swamped these past few weeks, I haven't had any time to make a blog post! Between work, building my Etsy stock ,moving my boyfriend into his house, leaving for Iceland in less than a week..there are not enough hours in the day.  All good things..but ahhh! Getting back on track and am incredibly excited.

These two up-cycled  pieces were created using the black and white 1980s paisley dress. I've said this a few times in previous posts, but I cannot get enough of patterns. The more--the better. Some of my favorite outfits are created from mixing two eclectic patterns together and having the confidence to rock it. Just remember, when mixing patterns you need a similar color palette to create a cohesive look. I've been working on reusing my thrifted refashioned clothing on other pieces to create an even more unique styling!

Before 1990s White Flower Button-Up Dress

I immediately adored the white-flower pattern and buttons of this dress! Although the tie-up back is typical of the 90s, it's not the most flattering. I knew a few alterations could make this dress stylish again and after finding the 80's paisley black dress, my love of pattern-combining came alive.

After 1990's Flower Dress with Paisley Back

Even though this dress is a little more spring-orientated, pair it with black tights, booties and a leather jackets and you have a style fit for the winter!

Before 1980's Black Paisley Dress

This dress has similar shape and silhouette of typical 80's clothing, but I was drawn to the pattern. I LOVE paisley! The front has a panel down the center, one button (strange!) and was cinched at the waist.

I've been digging crop tops with fringe for awhile now and was really looking forward to creating something that combined both features (just had to wait for the perfect thrift find!) The back also has an angled flower-pattern back panel from another 80s dress I thrifted awhile ago. I love the different textures and elements that complete this piece!

Looking foward to more blogging, creating and, my Iceland trip! (details to come later in the week)
