I am extremely thrilled to say that I shot my first photo session with my revived thrift finds yesterday with my best friend/college roomie, Sophie! I have been working hard in not only finding beautiful clothes to up-cycle, but also sewing, blogging and setting up my etsy page. Phew! So, this is a huge milestone for me to get under my belt.
We shot the photos in an amazing 1800's house in Owosso, MI--The Gould House. Complete with antique furnishings, the entire house has maintained it's original vibe. I was granted access throughout the entire house and property, allowing me to experience with different backgrounds, colors and materials. Because the house fits perfectly with my mantra, maintaining the beauty and reviving life into materials from the past, it was a remarkable opportunity to have my first photo-shoot there. Not to mention that it was a perfect, Michigan fall day.
I cannot begin to explain how elated, and anxious, I was to finally see my clothes on another person other than myself. All of the questions and nerves I previously had about this adventure were suddenly washed away throughout the day.
Huge shout-out to Sophie also for volunteering to be my model--she looked absolutely gorgeous in everything!
I'm posting a few sneak peaks, however I anticipate that all the images will be released in later, more detailed posts about each piece with before and afters. You will also notice on my previous Velvet and Flower posts,I was finally able to add after pictures, so check those out if you have a spare moment.
Hopefully you will be able to find all of my designs on my Etsy Page, Velvet Kiss, later this week, I hope you enjoy!
